Mr. Peabody's WABAC Machine

I was just looking through some old pictures as I'm getting ready to retire from the Army. Here's one from 25 years ago with my old 66 GMC.

It seems like an eternity ago....

I would like to have a truck with the V-6 in it. Too bad the WAYBAC machine couldn't bring it back for you...:)

Thanks, SuperCheyenne.

LockDoc, I loved that truck. It would outpull my father-in-law's Ford with a 390, and the sound of the V-6 running through dual glass packs was unique. Unfortunately, the PO had done some really bad stuff to it. I had it about three months when the front fenders started to pop out at the bottom. The paper towels he had used to put bondo over (his fix for rust) had come apart.

A couple of years later, I was pulling into a parking lot when the axle slipped out from under me. I discovered that he had torched an old bearing off and ground down the axle to put a new one on. I tried a sleeve kit, but it didn't hold it. My mechanical knowledge at the time was more limited, so I parked it and filled the bed with sand for my children to play in. It never got back on the road, but they all have fond memories of that truck.
