Door Weatherstrip

I was wondering if anyone made a door weatherstrip that has the rubber coated metal U to fit over the raw edge of the cab rather then using the weatherstrip that has to be glued on. I just think its silly to have to glue on a weatherstrip like this when most everyone you see on other vehicles just pushes on. I'm sure I've seen this type of weatherstrip on these trucks, but don't know if its something that came from another vehicle.

Thanks

I hear GMC Paul has some excellent push on type weatherstrip but us Canadians are out of luck as he won't ship to Canada.

Yep...buy them from GMCPaul. He carries the press on style made by Precision. One of the best fitting aftermarket parts available.

Edit- since you are in Canada, buy them from Classicheartbeat (Wes) as he carries the same style and I believe he will ship to Canada.

Thanks guys, I have a US shipping address I can have stuff sent to, so it wouldn't be a problem. I'll check it out.

Thanks again

Checked out both websites gmcpaul and classicheartbeat. I can't seem to find the push on style weather strip on the classicheartbeat website, only the original glue on style

I bought mine from GMCPaul several years ago and holding up really well. It will be hard to shut the door at first and you may have to adjust the striker out slightly to compensate until the heat and pressure work on the rubber. It took a couple of years for mine to set in and now shuts fine.

This is the pn you need and the location on the site. When on the site go to "67-72 truck parts", "rubber and weather strip" and scroll down to pn: 2660241

forgot to mention: if you do order these, be sure to leave the ends slightly longer at the bottom where the ends meet to allow for shrinkage. Maybe a quarter of an inch or so. If you need any more help, let me know.

I read on this forum awhile back that Dodge Dakota weatherstripping works great for the doors....so I tried it. I went to the local junkyard, found a good set...cost me $5 for both.

Try it, I'm glad I did!

Mid-90's Dakota.....I only had to trim about 3 or 4 inches off the end, but since the Dakota has a peak in the door, it fit our trucks like a glove. The U-channel fits great too, no more saggy weatherstripping!

Well $5 is much better then $49.95 that GMCPauls wants. I thought there might be a weather strip off something else that would fit. Thanks joesgreen67
68gmsee, I found them on GMCPauls.com, but I couldn't find the same ones on classicheartbeat.com as said by leddzepp. I only found the original glue on type.
