Sleeved Bag questions
 
I found some Firestone 9000 Sleeved Bags. my question is can I use them to replace my rear coil springs? Or do I need D2600 bags ?
As you can see not to up on the bags so any help is apreciated

I was always told sleeved bags are good if you mount them to the axle,But on a link like the trailing arms you should use the normal air bag type.

Technically, they would still work in a leverage/Truck-arm install but they would have a softer spring rate. The install height wouldn't be as low because they require more height vs a similar sized dbl convoluted bag.

Scoti is correct, but this may be what you want. I like to use the 9000 bags, the softer effective spring rate rides and handles a bit better. Here is the load math. The 9000 series bag is rated at 1500 lbs @ 100 psi. Two bags = 3000 lbs. but they are leveraged appx 30%, so this nets 2100 lbs. The back end of the truck will weigh in close to 1500, but remember that about 450lbs is unsprung wt, leaving an estimated 1050lbs on the axle, so there is about 1000lb capacity left in the bags. - and thats still a 1/2 ton truck

Thanks for the help. As I said I "found these" when cleaning my shed. They were for another project . I bought some rear trailing arm brackets so will see how it goes, worse case I'll get some diferent bags, Again thank to all for the help
