Re: Vintage Air (Kwik Perf) LS A/C Compressor Bracket

The belt is not included. If you have your A/C system, including the compressor, you shouldn't anything other than a belt.

Re: Vintage Air (Kwik Perf) LS A/C Compressor Bracket

anyone know how well these do in high rpm scenarios? I plan to put a/c on my truck...but it will also be raced, so I worry about that long belt derailing at high rpms.

i dont think it should be a problem as there are some guys with superchargers an turbos with no problems. if i can find a tvs for $3-3500 i plan on finding out :)

Hello Quick
Are you running a truck front drive or car front drive serpentine system?
Did it work right out the box or did you have to modify in some way or another?
I got it to work 98%of the time for me.
It was a loud squeak at all times disassembled it & reassembled it for a day & a half following directions down to the T with help from the tech line on the 2nd day we decided to start shimming the bracket between the head & bracket with 20mm washers started with one & no better added the 2nd & it immediately got quite :metal:
It's all good when the motor is warmed up but at cold starts I have a small chirping sound but I quess I'll just have to live with it for now I'm frustrated already & ready to get the AC hoses crimped on & AC charged & move on to the next project on my truck.
Thank you for your time.

I'm running truck acc.

I followed their directions, if I recall correctly I used the ls1 tensioner switched out the two pulleys and bought a gates belt...no shims, except the "u" shaped one behind the pulley.

Nature of the beast when using aftermarket A/C Compressor Bracket kits made with with either Steel Plate or Aluminum Plate, Plate Stock is not held too tight enough thickness variation standards.

Once a Belt squeals from misalignment.....It's done (Glazed), Even you have it shimmed correctly now, You need a fresh Belt too know for sure.

Re: Vintage Air (Kwik Perf) LS A/C Compressor Bracket

Gatorback belts help with a lot of noise problems from things being slightly misaligned. If you buy them on Amazon they're sometimes cheaper than the house brand belts at auto parts stores.

Thx clinbarger I'll definitely try that
And Ls1nova71 yes I know the gatorback belts well I worked at a Goodyear Automotive for just over 10 years
