1st Gen Camaro Restomod

First.. Hello to all the Alternate Tinkerings members. There are some incredible builds in this area. Also some very talented people doing the builds…

Now that I am almost complete with the 69 K10 build I am in search of my next project.. a first gen Camaro. I would prefer a 69 over a 68 or 67, but I could be happy with any of the three model years. I am looking for a project vehicle, not a fully restored vehicle. I would be open to an older restoration that needs work as well. My plans are to do a restomod restore.. the goal of the build is to build a nice somewhat daily driver that my wife and I can use to make trips back and forth to the lake. I plan on installing an LS with a late model transmission, 4 wheel disc brakes, lowered with some nice suspension pieces. So obvious I am not looking for a numbers matching vehicle. I will use this forum to document the build.
If anyone knows of 1st Gen Camaro for sale please let me know. Of course it would need to be in or close to Oklahoma ..
Thanks

I can talk to some people if you like about where one may be. We have an old salvage yard with one in it that I don't think can be restored without making it a convertible. I may talk to them about it. I'm not sure how much they want but it's worth a look. Not much left of it as far as usable parts go.

Hi Zach, My ancestors came from Eldorado area , the direct bunch that branched off were from "Flat Rock" 12 miles east of you on the Sack river ( watch out for those alligator gars!). The cabin That my gramdmother's uncle-- senator "silver Dick Bland" built is still there. My Grandfather tried making it to California in 29 - and I talked about what happened here,

nickw5 has a project car for sale in the misc for sale section, you really should not limit yourself to the immediate area, the early camaros are not easy to get nowdays, so finding something you can afford is likely to be more than a few states away--they are where they turn up. Ive gone after old 75 yr old trucks -up un Kansas, nebraska with a tow bar and my pickup -swapped in a rear axle and greased the front hubs-swapped in chevy colorado wheels n tires-and flat towed it home close to 900 miles once. You got to make it happen because something showin up in the next town just dosent happen with an early camaro anymore.

I really liked your truck build and the way it turned out and the creative solution you had for your roof. Have you made any progress towards this project yet? Looking forward to watching your work on it.
