New to 73-87's need some help
1 Attachment(s)
I've always been more into the older trucks and usually more on the 67-72 stuff...I recently purchased an 84 c10 and need a little help as I don't know much about these models....the truck came with an inline 6 with a/c and automatic it's a half ton short bed....I got a good deal on it due to blown head gasket....instead of fixing the inline I have a 454 with low miles from a motor home that I am going to swap heads on and change intake....does anyone have a pic of the a/c brackets I will need? It has the pancake style compressor....does anyone have any other advice on the swap? I have motor mounts and was going to use the 350 turbo tranny that's in it....also have a Belltech 4/6 drop for it going to add some wheels and freshen up body and interior...want a truck that I can enjoy driving and take to the cruise ins

Re: New to 73-87's need some help
Your trim you wont be able to get nothing like factory but there are some vendors that sell good quality parts such as LMC Trucks, Brother's, Classic Industries, Rock Auto, and there's a few I'm probably missing too. But those are some main ones everyone goes to.
Truck looks like a great start for a nice little cruiser man! Keep us posted on progress. |

Re: New to 73-87's need some help
You can get the lower body trim from your local paint supply store where all of the paint and body guys buy their stuff. It's available in rolls for a modest price.
If you'd prefer, Classic Parts and similar also offer it. I'll warn you though, its the same stuff you can buy in bulk, cheaper, from a paint supply store only with an inflated price. Posted via Mobile Device |
