Ride Height Sensor Linkage
Decided to upgrade the rubber jointed linkage on my ride height sensors for Dakota Digital air ride system. These look to be the exact same height sensors that RideTech uses on their system.
This is what comes with the sensors. http://i1269.photobucket.com/albums/...psa5c23e8a.jpg The rubber connectors are not very flexable and just don't look very hi tech. They supply worm drive hose clamps that you clamp around the rubber to keep the steel round bar from slipping. These I never installed. Way to cheezy for a "high dollar" system. This is what I came up with. http://i1269.photobucket.com/albums/...psb4908448.jpg http://i1269.photobucket.com/albums/...ps79ca32f4.jpg http://i1269.photobucket.com/albums/...ps8ef9900e.jpg Here are the parts. 8 female 1/4" standard rod ends 8 1/4"-20 x 1 1/2" allen bolt + nuts 8 1/4" x 1/4" spacers 3 foot 1/4" aluminum un-threaded rod http://i1269.photobucket.com/albums/...pse3989658.jpg Pretty simple. Cut the rod to length, cut 1/4"-28 RH threads into each end and thread on the heim joints. No jam nuts needed. http://i1269.photobucket.com/albums/...ps14aa45d0.jpg http://i1269.photobucket.com/albums/...ps39ad0462.jpg I was a little concerned about the weight so I weighed them. http://i1269.photobucket.com/albums/...psb52fc584.jpg http://i1269.photobucket.com/albums/...psd6128fb8.jpg As you can see the bulky rubber ones weighed 3.4oz. and new ones weighed 3.2oz. And I used standard steel rod ends. Aluminum heims would save even more. Total cost was less than $8 per wheel or a total of $32 I think it looks alot cooler and any binding it may have is totally cured. I think this could help to extend the life of the sensors. Can't hurt. Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Ride Height Sensor Linkage
I think that I would have left one end rudder.Just so it has a little give to it.That way if the suspension over compress or extended it might save the sensor.but that's me.
