Ideal Backspacing?
 

Well the guys told me to post this in the suspension section. I have a c10 lowered 2.5 inches in the front and 3 inches in the back. I have the wider 57 inch rear end. I am planning to run a 18x8 wheel with 255/55-18 tires front and back. What is a safe backspacing? Does anybody have a similar setup? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks Joe

Hey Joe,
The backspacing is up to you and personal preference of where you want that whee to sit in the fender. I would suggest a 4.5" backspace with the drop you have and tire you are wanting to run. Again, this is what I would run, but you can always adjust from there. I do suggest measuring to confirm this will be where you want the wheels, as 4.5" backspace means a 4.5" front space, since all wheel measure appx. 1" wider that they say because of the beads.

Thanks for the help. I was planning on the Ridler 695 or a similar style wheel.

'Ideal' may not be what is offered.... Be sure & check back spacing options. From what I've seen, the cheaper cost on the wheel, the fewer BS options you have & they're typically built for newer models (w/diff BS requirements).

Good post, generally with a C10 I start with a zero offset. If you are wanting to run a 8" wheel then it will measure 9" and half of that is 4.5". Start there and search the forums for similar setups to see what it looks like. Remember that it's the width, diameter doesn't matter so if you find a setup with a 20x8 it would be the same setup for you.

You are going to find that wheels like the Ridler 695 wheels don't give you a choice of backspace. Here is an example of what they offer,

Each size/boltpattern comes in one backspace. Many wheels are like that.
