Jeg's and Painless Wiring have a great special

I just got off the phone with Painless to order the right kit for my 62 burb. They recommended item #10204 the 18 circuit system for about $425 and he said they have a special now with Jeg's that it comes with the powerbraid harness kit item #70920 that is usually $220 for free.
I just called Jeg's and placed my order and sure enough it was thrown in for free and free shipping.
Anyone looking for a deal I'm not sure this can be beat.
Good luck,
Burbluv

I don't think those two products are a very good deal at all considering what else is on the market.

The Painless wiring kit is just a universal kit...I have installed quite a few of these in all types of vehicles and they take a long time to do correctly. They have teir place but there are better options I think. For just a little more money you could buy an American Autowire classic update kit that is made for your truck. I just installed one in mine and I figure it cut the wiring time in half over a universal harness. The bulk of the connections just plug into your switches, the main harness is already built and tied up AND it comes with harness for the wipers, courtesy lights, NEW ignition switch with keys and electrical side, new headlight switches, new hi/low switch and all the correct plugs to go right into your factory gauge cluster AND a bracket to just bolt the fuse panel to you firewall. I couldn't believe how easy it was and how nicely everything fit. It's all set up for modern accessories too.

The split loom is pretty cheap anyway if you buy it from a manufacturer like Techflex instead of Painless. You can get 25ft of 1/2" for $18 shipped from Amazon.com for example.

For others doing the same, you might want to add up the cost of the harness, all the switches, terminals and plugs and the cost of loom and then think about if you want to make the job about 1/2 the effort.

If you look at this kit you can see it even has the correct tail light boots allong with the contacts for the tail lights. My next truck will get one of these for sure. The universal is a PITA.
