Location of trim codes on 1951 Chevy Panel?
I've spent most of the day googling this but I must not be phrasing the question correctly.
I have no problem finding paint codes online, etc. I was wondering where I find the trim / option codes tag on my truck (assuming it has one). Somewhere online it said there was a tag on the passenger side cowl for these years but damn if I know where it is. Looking to find original color, trim level (again I believe I have a Deluxe but want to confirm) etc etc. This was the only tag I could find but obviously it isn't the right one. http://i.imgur.com/Nxcpi56.jpg Based on this serial number does this mean I have the 2824th 1950 Chevy 3100 Panel built in Baltimore MD in February of 1950? (source: http://www.sanjosechevys.org/Tech/te...chevtrucks.htm) if this is where the the tag is supposed to be.. all that it there is a small single screw-sized hole in the upper left of the firewall. that makes me sad. http://i.imgur.com/8L2wsVi.jpg thanks. |

Chevys of the 40's may be some help. They sell I.D. and trim tags

Looks like you have to actually supply them with the info and they'll make you a repro tag for only $250. :)
Maybe I'll get lucky and the tag will be in one of the parts boxes in the back of the truck. |
