Seat Belt Cleaning Tip
I had a moment of sheer, unadulterated genius yesterday.
My original seatbelts were nasty dirty and completely unsuitable for going back in the truck. I soaked them with spray-n-wash and scrubbed it in with a toothbrush (don't use your wife's). Then let them soak for a while and then hit em with a pressure washer with a 40 degree tip. With the washer tip nice and close (close enough so one pass gets the entire width of the belt) you could literally see the dirt cleaning right out of the belts. You just have to avoid the sewn GM tag or you will blow it off. I wouldn't recommend using a tip less than 40 degrees to avoid damaging the belt webbing. I hung-dried the belts (took less than 30 minutes to dry) and now they look brand new. If I knew how good it was going to work I'd have taken before and after shots. http://i780.photobucket.com/albums/y...ps13375a50.jpg |

Using the powerwasher is a good idea, I didn't think of that one. I used the spray and wash and a plastic bristled brush in the sink with hot water running over it. Then I soaked it in laundry detergent/hot water overnight and dried it the next day. Still wasn't perfectly clean but I was going to dye it anyways. I may have to try the powerwasher on my original set that I took out of the truck.

Just for clarification,You can use your wife's toothbrush but you absolutely cannot let her find out.

Here are some afters- didn't think to get a before..... They were soiled pretty bad, just nasty with farm dirt and grease. I was going to dye them black for the new interior colors but cleaned up they are too nice to dye. http://i780.photobucket.com/albums/y...ps8843a284.jpg http://i780.photobucket.com/albums/y...ps757fde28.jpg |

I had the same great results but I used simple green and a hot water pressure washer.
