How do I search CL

Anyone figured out how to search on Craigs list for 67-72 trucks and truck parts?

Maybe a key word or two?

I have been using 67/72 and have limited success. Even Chevrolet is not very accurate as some folks list Chevy.

Any help would be greatly appricated. I hate missing out on CL deals!

I find when searching Craigs list, a lot of people do not know what they have or list is properly. So you need to look at the hole list. Look in parts part, set it for private seller and so you can see the pictures.

I use multiple headers.
1972 Chevy
72 Chevy
1972 Chevrolet
Etc.....

Make sure you click on "entire post" and not "title only".

Using "67-72" seems to work in my area for parts. Also key words like "cab", "doors", and "bucket". The more simple I make the search, the more results I get. Also, when putting in say "1970"....search "70" also, even more results! ;)

I find "67 chevy truck", "1967 chevy truck", "1967 gmc", and "67 gmc" to work fairly well as most people who have parts have one of those in the title. Plus, Im always on the lookout for a 67 truck, so it brings that up as well.

Re: How do I search CL

Here's what I use:

(1967|1968|1969|1970|1971|1972|67|68|69|70|71|72)

This searches each date/number. You can copy and past this into the search bar

You could also add c10|c-10|c20|c-20| etc.

To get the vertical bar, press shift and the \ key (above my enter key). The parentheses at the beginning and end allow it to search everything listed.

2nd on DGulliver's advice - SearchTempest has a sub-site, AutoTempest, that allows you to specify year, model and geography and search multiple CLs. It also resolves "Chevy" vs "Chevrolet" and 4-digit vs 2-digit years. Very powerful tool.
