They pop up in the parts board. Also, craigslist will have some good options. I bought one about a year ago for under $200 on this board, needs some work but its the real deal.

Yes, the parts board is a great place to find a nice one. Be ready to spend 3 - 4 hundred and another 150 - 200 on shipping.

NOS ones have sold for 800 + easy.

Check your local salvage yards and pick n pulls also.

Oh, I misunderstood. That would be NOS. Once in a while they will pop up here. Last one I saw went for over $800, so be prepared to bust out the wallet. Be patient and shop the parts board often. Put up a WTB(want to buy) in the parts board, might get lucky but not likely.

Re: Buying a tailgate

Around four years ago after a hit and run that smashed my tailgate and roll pan I was in need of one. It took me a while to source one locally that was repairable, but I'm glad that I waited, and did the repairs myself. Aftermarket gates leave much to be desired, and are usually easy to spot. When I see one of our trucks on the road, one of the first things I look at is the tailgate.

Try to find one that can be fixed. You might save some money.

You might get luckily like I did and find a truck that never had its tailgate put on so it was still mint. Only paid 1250 for the tailgate and nothing for the truck. HAHA

Step or Fleet? I have an original stepside gate that I plan to strip, prime, and sell or I might sell as is.

Pickmups had 2 beautiful oe gates that had been blastic and edp coated. Looked as good as nos and I think they were around 500.
