Good start to a project...

The UPS and FedEx guys have been visiting my house daily for the last couple of days, this should keep me busy for a while. The only things I'm waiting on are the rear springs that are getting drop shipped and the wheels that are in route.
The original CalCustom fan is from my stash I bought a few years back, I knew I'd find the right truck for it sooner or later.

Looks good..what wheels are those tires going to be mounted on?..or haven't you decided yet? The 250 will look great with the ol' school dual carb setup.:metal:
Looking forward to seeing your progress on this project.

I have 225/70 and 275/60 BFG's, they'll be mounted on 15x7 and 15x8 chrome reverse wheels, without the center caps, I want to put spider caps on too, I'm keeping it 60's style.

Here is the truck, the drop starts tomorrow, the engine will get pulled this winter and get detailed and the new parts put on, along with an engine bay detail. The bed will get the side markers shaved, a touch of body work, then a way better faux patina paint job that actually matches the rest of the truck.

Thanks! I'm pretty excited about this project. I'm putting all the trim back on too. I feel like my truck is the ugly abused brother of your's!

Thank you, I really appreciate that. I've been accused of sweating the details before.

I so want to shave the marker lights on this truck when I paint it, but I'm going to leave them since it is so original and I have the documentation for this truck. Your truck is going to look how I'd really want mine to look.

I'm interested to see how the 225/70 and 275/60 combo looks. I was running 235/70's and 275/60's on my shop truck, and the fronts were actually a touch taller mounted on the factory 6" rims. I am planning on running 6's on the front of this truck also, but I am going to run the slightly deeper offset Suburban rims, and I am going to run the same 8" steelies on the rear that I had on the shop truck. That 225/70 may be exactly what I need.

According to BFG, a 225/70 is 27.4" tall, and a 275/60 is 28" tall. I'm hoping I nailed it, I usually run a 245/60 on the front. I wanted this one a little taller and skinner. We'll see, hopefully the wheels get here by the end of the week.

One teaser pic for now. The front is done, the rear springs haven't shown up yet so we put the blocks in and a few other parts and heated the springs a little until the new ones show up. Still need to do the notch also, we ran out of time.

What's the story on the truck in the background?

It's a 5 1/2" front, 7 1/2" rear. I'm hoping the front settles more, I may have to trim the coils when the back is done. We'll see.

That's Brett's (dirtball) truck, it's way nice. I know he's posted a few pics of it on here somewhere.

Small update, I've got the rear suspension all done, including notch, all I'm waiting for now is to call CPP in the morning regarding my tie rod conversion sleeves. The set they sent out had one that wasn't drilled and tapped straight and the threads weren't deep enough. Frustrating! I want to get this thing to the alignment shop soon! I also did new front brakes with a wheel bearing repack, and shoes and wheel cyl's in the rear too. Still waiting on Wheel Vintiques also...
