10 bolt to 12 bolt u joint
I need the part number for a conversion u joint. Going from a 10 bolt to a 12 bolt truck rear end.

Re: 10 bolt to 12 bolt u joint
I think it may take a different driveshaft. I'm pretty sure one is longer than the other.

Re: 10 bolt to 12 bolt u joint
Hadnt thought of calling Summit, I'll give them a call. From my research I know that the 12 bolt shaft requires the drive shaft to be 3/4" shorter. However I used weld on axle perches for an axle flip, so I know my rear end moved forward.

No need to call Summit.
I just went through this on a truck I'm building. I got this one at O Reilly. It's a stocking part number in the store. http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/k...CAC4290B3B.jpg Posted via Mobile Device |

Just curious, why did you go to a 12 bolt?

Re: 10 bolt to 12 bolt u joint
TX Firefighter thanks.
RPOZ11, I went to a 12 bolt because I went from air ride back to a static drop. The 10 bolt had a bunch of brackets welded to it. It was easier to just roll the 12 bolt under the truck and weld on a set of perches. I got the 12 bolt from a rolling frame that I used for my leaf hangers, and other pieces that were tossed in the air ride years. |
