I am out of town for a few days and was just wondering the rear panel on the box that houses the tail lights on these trucks is spot welded or bolted on? Thanks!

it is spot welded on.

yes, my suggestion is to leave it if it does not need to be replaced, the only way to get at the spot welds is to destroy either the bedside, or the rear panel.
people have said the best way to re- install the aftermarket repro, or a good o.g. panel is to use panel bonding adhesive.
