P600 procharger
 
Anyone know much about this?

Wouldn't mind building a SBC engine around one of these.

What should my compression ratio be?

How much PSI/boost would it make?

If anyone have one or knows what they are capable of producing XX amount of extra HP I am all ears! :lol::lol:

I have a non intercooled P600B on my 355 that's in my 71 Z/28 4 speed car. I installed it about 15 years ago and it's still running strong. 9.00:1 compression, aluminum Victor Jr heads, Victor jr intake, 750 AED Holley carb, GM 2nd design off road cam. I run 15lbs of boost and 15 degrees of initial and 24 degrees total. I have no ide what it makes for power but on regular old street tires and on pump gas, it runs low 11s @ 128 mph.

With no 60 ft, street tires, that's flying. If it hooked, that would be getting down in the 10's for sure.

The 60' times suck because of the street tires. I have to ease it off of the line, slip the clutch through 1st, and roll into the throttle. Since it's a real Z/28, I don't want to put a cage in it. I have other dedicated drag cars so the Z/28 is just a sleeper.

I want to run one of these with Nitrous.

But knowing this I'd have to make sure the bottom end can handle it.

Right now I just have a standard 350 with a flat lobe cam. That I'll upgrade to handle
the NOS and boost later on. But I think even with a fairly stock bottom end it should
be able to handle a small shot of nitrous.

That's what I meant, with those tires you lost a ton out of the hole making it up on the other end. With the et verses mph, that is impressive. I'd have to try drag radials at least once! That's why I keep my chevelle away from the track, I'd like to see what it'd run in street trim but it's always "just a little faster".
