What do I need to do to eliminate smog system?

I want to totally eliminate my smog system on my 86 k20. It's totally stock under the hood and I just want to clean it up. I don't care about passing smog I will never need to have a smog cert on this truck. I have heard that I would need a carb and distributer. I'm just going to get the smog pump eliminator bracket from summit for the pumps. Can somebody give me a list of what I would need to do?

Thanks you

You have what now?

Truck is 30+ years old, I don't know what you actually still have.
Personally I don't know what a K-20 would have. Had an '86 C-10, years ago, with computer carb and distributor.
'86 C-30, that I have now, only had 2 smog pumps. No computer or anything else, even legal to run with leaded gas.

(forgot, has EGR also.)

I know I have two smog pumps, but I'm not sure what else I need to get rid of. I know I'm going to put headers on it, so that gets rid of the air injection process but I still don't know if I do that what else I will need to do.

Pop the air cleaner off, do you have an electrical plug on top of the carb? How about a fairly large electrical plug in on the lower part of the distributor? No point in ordering new if you don't actually need them.

You will need a smaller fan belt for your accessories, just run a string along the belt route and get a length. Local auto parts store "should" be able to hook you up.

I'm going off memory. I think I did the C-10 back in the 1990's. C-30 was fairly recent, but not much to pull, in my case all I did was the smog pumps. Just to clean things up a little.
