Yeah that's the 1 geezer. I could use that carb! That's about as much as the carb goes for, it would be an upgrade from my 230. A 292 sure would be nice. hopefully it'll help somebody out.

I got my 600 cfm edelbrock brand new of autozone for $289.99 and the results were better then the holley.

Mr. McCauley that's nice to know auto zone carries them, I'm thinking about running a 500 cfm edelbrock I was just checking out my options. My motor is stock just long tube headers and a offenhauser manifold. I'll look into it maybe I could use my auto zone points.

What size is your motor? If its a stock 250 and you are going to put a 500 edelbrock on there then you will need to put an hei on it. Anything stock under 250 like 194,216,230 then a holley two barrel will be just fine.

Just read another thread of yours and it sounds like you have a 230 and yes a 600 cfm edelbrock or holley will be way to much on a stock motor. If you are staying stock then a jetted down 500 will be okey, I would go with a 350 or 500 cfm holley 2 barrel. That will give you plenty of air, let alone fuel! My 292 has a 600 edelbrock on it and that's pushing it. So a 230, 62 cubic inches less than a 292, is not going to need even close to as much. I would go with a 500 cfm holley 2 barrel, and an hei. You would probably be happier unless you went with the 390 holley. For yer info, after about a 100,000 miles holley carbs are prone to get a nasel leak.
