odd vibration
So I thought my worn out dryrotted tires were causing a vibration. At lower speeds 25-40 it intermittently kinda wobbles left to right if that makes any sense. It's an odd feeling, it doesn't feel like a balance issue. It starts up again at 60 and comes and goes over 60. This week I put new tires and switched out the wheels on it, road force balanced them. They were all .008-.023" road force. Spec for light truck on our machine is .036" so I know the tires and rims aren't the problem. I'm leaning toward a drive shaft. U-joints are tight. Trans fluid/filter could probably use a change. Smells old not burnt. Any other places I should look first? Any common areas?

Re: odd vibration
Wheel bearings not tight.
Idler arm worn out. Bad ball joints. Bad shocks. Bad tie-rods. Needs an alignment. |

Re: odd vibration
Probably all of the above. I know it needs an alignment. I didn't feel anything in the front end loose when I put the wheels on but it all looks original. I don't know if I'll be able to get the tie rod tubes loose to turn them. I've been soaking them in Kroil. Wheel bearings are fine. Just did front brakes on it. I know the bearings are right and it was doing this before that also. At hwy speeds changing lanes feels kinda scary like the truck wants to lose control when you counter steer back. Also it bounces bad across the bridge here so I know shocks are toast. Everything under the truck is all original.
