Tire question?? And ratio?

Hi, I'm new to this forum. I have a 1987 silverado v10 with a 350 tbi. It has a 700r4 tranny and np08 transfer case. I just recently put 3:73 gears in. I want to put 35s on and wonder if it will have good power for wheelin and towing. So is this a good setup? And I also want somewhat good gas mileage.

That is a gair high because of the od and 35's. but will help with gas. The 700 is a good tranny just weak so be careful. The 208 is stout just watch for chain wear. You git a good setup could always change axle's to somethin lower, but you'll give up gas. Drive it, see how it stacks up. I think you will do about as good as ya can just keep the foot outta it lol.

My 82 K25 has same gearing as yours,it's on 35s with the 833OD tranny behind a 6.2. This combo works pretty well so far,if I get into mud or snow just throw it into low range. You should be ok with the 350,it will probably have more jam than my 6.2..

I would say it's a hair tall for towing, depending on your load, but not much. If I was designing from scratch I would have chosen 4.10, so your 3.73 really isn't too far off. I certainly wouldn't suggest going through the hassle of changing your gearing unless you're towing a rather heavy load on a regular basis.
