2 Attachment(s)
i just finish installing my 305 on my 82 c10,
now im having an issue with the carburator, holley 650 double pumper i had it on my 1963 chevy c10, but i changed to a newer one , this holley 650 worked great! i had it in my garage about 8 months. when i turned my engine on for first time it started right up but then gas was coming out of the holes on top. im new to this carburators but for what i have seen this is not normal, i did a picture of a carburator picture i found online,,, 1 and 2 arrows point where the gas is coming out of... im guessing its flooding??? |

it sat for 8 months, your floats might be stuck...

Woo that's an old 1410 holley
Do you know how to set the float levels on a holley? Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: just installed 305 - carb help!
There's two brass flat head plugs on the side of the engine. With the engine off unscrew them and some rags underneath. Start the truck and with a wrench and wide screw driver adjust the floats by first loosening the flat head screw, don't worry if fuel squirts out turn the wrench right to lower the float and left to raise it. We want the fuel level to come tithe bottom if the threads on those plugs. When you adjust you have to tighten or loosen the flat head screw to keep the fuel leak minimal. When front and back are done shut off and put plugs back on
If they are stuck take them out with just the wrench and blow them clean and inspect them then reinstall and do the adjustment procedure. Posted via Mobile Device |
