stereo and steering wheel

Hey guys just had a couple quick qs. I solved the stereo issue..but I hit a bump in the road and it blew the radio fuse in the fuse block. Changed it and now everytime I flip the key the fuse pops and the radio doesn't even turn on. Ideas? Also..in my 86 I have a tilt column and what appears to be a steering wheel from an 89-90 something. Did 86 silverados have the tilt column? I figured somebody possibly just switched steering wheels

For the radio issue, there must be a bare wire someplace causing a dead short.Look for where some wires have rubbed together on your radio harness, its probably something like that in order to blow the fuse as soon as power is put to it. For the column, pretty good chance a Silverado had tilt wheel in 86. It all depended on how they were ordered though.I have a bare bones custom deluxe that doesn't even have a roof interior light but it has tilt.

I figured it was a dead short or something. I'm having the ignition power source rewired today.
