Narrow tailgate band fitment
 

I recently purchased a good quality used narrow tailgate band. I'm in the process of "restoring" my 80 Scottsdale C10. I've decided to purchase a new tailgate. Will any tailgate from 73-80 work with the narrow band? I know part numbers are different for some of the years. Thanks for your help

The band will fit any of them, but the tailgate hardware/design on the latch sides is what varies.

I'm fairly certain as long as I stay with 73-80 the latch/hinge mechanism is all the same

you will need to purchase the 76-80 tailgate. i purchased also purchased the narrow tailgate band a while back to use on my 87 and I had this same discussion in length with Captkaos to determine the best tailgate to purchase.
