Vapor canister
 

Well I have the vapor canister still in my truck the only hose that's hooked up to it is the has tank vent. There's like four other hoses I plugged the ones I was not using. The canister it self is falling apart looks like crap so wondering If I can take it out.

If its not getting vacuum from the engine (the other hoses) then its not operating and therefore you could remove it. However, if you have vapor lock problems then you may want to hook everything back up.

Also, if you remove the canister then you may want to cover the remaining hose with something breathable to keep bugs out and the vent open.

Ok i guess ill just take it out do i have to get a vented has cap or a lityle folyer at end of fuel vapor hose ? What are some of the vapor lock symptoms for our old trucks?

Vented gas cap would work or a piece of pantyhose secured over the end of the vent hose.

Vacuum lock usually show up on hot days after the engine has been warmed up and stopped. When you try to restart the engine turns over fine but won't run long due to vapor in fuel line (boiled gas).
