Inlinetube my only option for 4x4 brake lines?
 

Basically what the title said. Are all of you guys going to inlinetube for 4x4 brake line kits?

I did my own.
But, I did go to Inline tube for my rear e brake cables.

They do good work, but their shipping costs and policies are not something to be desired.

Not worth the price. Get lines at your local parts store and a $5 bender from harbor freight and bend your own.

I have inline tubes stainless kit on my K5 and its a nice kit. Just installed their disc/disc prop valve but haven't driven the truck yet.

Bent my own here. Got the Eastwood bender and their 25' coil of brake line. Worked pretty good.

Beat me to it Jason! Very nice work indeed. I got my front 4x4 e brake cable from Napa but I think that they outsourced it from Inline. While the quality is good, it wasn't 180 bucks good. I would bend my own lines. As seen here, you can do your own high quality lines on the cheap!

That is a very nice/clean job.

I think it boils down to the flaring part. Personally, I hate flaring lines so I went with the kit, however, if you are good at it, you can save yourself alot of money.

Thanks all. A quality flaring tool is definitely worth the money. I just used a cheapy one from O'Reilly Auto. If you make sure to lube the end first it first, it will do the job.

I hope the one i got from Sears is a good one, After i got it i was left wondering if i got the correct degree flair?? and maybe i got the wrong kit?

Nope...for stock applications that is the one you want. Make sure to practice on some scrap, make sure to chamfer the end, then hit it with some sort of lube. I can't remember what I used on mine, but it was a thicker consistency than WD.

I used the craftsman flaring tool as well. I keep it lubed with grease and so far so good after doing stainless lines on two trucks. You can get a couple size benders from someplace like harbor freight. But they dont do as well on larger diameter stainless lines, like my 3/8" fuel line, because the stainless steel is much harder. Mild steel lines should be much easier.

NAPA also has pre flared brake lines with fittings starting at about 1' and going to 6' or so. I got an old school flaring tool at a retired machinists yard sale and went to town. Russell sells braided stainless for the hardline to caliper and rear tee connection. Look in the early part of my build thread for details. I used the same except 3/8 for gas line. I tossed my cheap bender after it messed up some bends and spent the money on a quality one that bends up to 3/8 with no kinks.
