205 transfer case
 

i have a 72k/5 blazer i can not stop auto transmission fluid from going into transfer case transmission shop has pulled it twice and replaced seals in the adapter plate and o-ring on the shaft and this didnot stop it. can anyone help me with this problem.

Check the inbetween shaft thats goes with the adapter/mount. See if it has groves in it.

are you talking about the sleeve if so its ok.

No, there is a double ended female "driveshaft" that rides between the trans and tc. It is basically inside the adapter. It could have deep groves in it causing it to leak. But there are even other issues before that, that need to be addressed as well. Fluid shouldn't even be getting that far. But this is something an average diy'r could look/fix.

there are more seals up inside the transmission. There are ATLEAST 2 seals I know of(and i'm just now getting into 4x4) that keep trans fluid out of TC.

I agree if fluid is getting to the rear seal of the tranny
you may have more than just the rear seal
the rear seal isnt much of a seal kinda there just to keep back a little

I've had 2 of these trucks and have had the same issue with both. Still debating on what to do right now since I still have this problem also. I wasted $500 on a rear output seal only to have the same problem again so I've got to get it fixed right this time...

there is no rear seal on a fourwheel drive automatic transmission.

Sounds like I may have gotten ripped off in the past, but whatever they did seemed to fix the problem for a little while anyway, but that was years ago.

I guess here's my ? then since I don't think this is something I can do myself. I've talked about it a little with the local 4 Wheel Parts guy but haven't gotten into detail.

What do I need to tell them so I don't have to deal with it again and to make sure all of the seals in the trans get replaced? Or do I need to try and find a transmission shop that works on older stuff?
