75 no shoulderbelt - child seat belt questions

Sorry if this has been asked 100 times but, it's something important to me, so:

I just picked up a Gentleman Jim which has bucket seats and two lap belts (no shoulder belts).

I want to drive the wheels off this thing, and go camping with my wife and kid, so I bought a bench seat so the three of us can go.

Two questions:
* How to get Three point belts for the two side seats (by the doors)
(is there an upper seat belt attachment on the B-Pillar hidden by the interior trim?)
* How do I get a "shoulder" belt for the middle position?

Found this from https://www.gotbelts.com/specialty-s...ts/83/view/245

https://www.gotbelts.com/sites/seatb...74-350-350.jpg

The site says it mount so the floor

Mounts to floor at 3 points
Perfect for center position bench seats
Meets and exceeds Federal Motor Vehicle Safety standards 209 and 302

So the shoulder part is long and hangs over the back of the seat?
Anyone actually do this?

Much thanks!

1st off better check the law. Many states do not allow 3-point belts for street use.

As for mounting, They normally either mount to a roll bar or the floor (reinforced a lot) behind the seats.

Every truck I have seen since 1969 has had a factory mount point for the shoulder harness on the sides of the cab about head level. Not sure why yours doesn't.

I have the same issue, but I made a wooden base to keep the child seat from sliding.

Did you check behind the plastic panel behind the seat?

That 4 point is not dot approved so its not road legal in the cops eyes.I looked up Federal Motor Vehicle Safety standards 209 and 302 they are just on how to make seat belts nothing to do wit them in the car/truck tho.

I still like the idea of a three or four point harness for the middle seat, but here's an obvious answer for the pass and driver:

Some newer cars have a 3 point in the center of the rear seat.Maybe take that and rig it up to work.Or maybe the whole seat just thinking out loud.

I put the ones from seatbelt planet in my old '74. Having new belts made me feel a lot better. The mounting holes are in the cab; you may have to drill a hole in the trim to access it, though.
