? bout tires for my '86 lwb....
 

ok guys i got a '86 lwb 1/2 ton and am currently waiting on my NEW rims to get here from LMC....
i ordered these wheels below (15x10) all 4 same size....
i was needing to know what the best size tire is to run on these with a 4.5"/6" drop???

I've got 245/60r15 for the front, and 275/60r15 for the rear on mine. About a 5/7 drop on my truck. I had 255/70r15s on before but the tires were hitting on the lip of the fender in the front.

I checked your tire sizes and...
245/60-15 fronts are 26.6" tall
275/60-15 rears are 28" tall

I then checked the size of the tires I'm thinking bout running...
295/50-15 all around are 26.7" tall

So they would be basically the same height as your fronts but all around and be quit a bit wider than yours...

Yours are 8.5" tread width
Mine are 10.4" tread width

Did you know Kaotik that the important measurement is the backspacing on your new rims. That determines how far to the outside the edge of your tire sits.
While your tread width on your 295's is indeed 10.4" your cross section width (total width) on 10" rims will be closer to 12".
Since you already got the rims coming don't buy tires yet. Put the rims on the hub and then use a straight edge to see where the edge of your tire will hit the wheelwell lip.
