New Project '72

Bought this ’72 about 2 weeks ago as a project for my son and me to work on. It has a 402 and Turbo 400, power steering, power brakes and A/C. It needs a lot TLC to get everything working correctly.
The initial plan is to get the engine running like it should, go over the steering and brakes to make sure it stops and turns safely. Long term we will probably add some Porterbuilt goodies and it will probably snowball from there.

That's a nice truck. What color of green is that?

Looks like the front left fender got scraped somehow. The lower trim is missing and it is bent a little right behind the wheel opening. Pretty sure the truck was repainted at some point too.

Wow, I have the twin brother. I've gone through the motor, trans, reared, brakes, ac, and front end thus far. If I can help with any reference pictures or lessons learned please let me know. Good luck with the build. Please keep us posted on progress.

FedEx brought me Some goodies yesterday. Hope these will breathe a little life into the 402.

Nice parts, do you have roller rockers already.

Doing a "pay as I go" on this, so they will probably go on next month's Summit card bill.

Nice part about the roller rockers is that they are easy to add later, are you going full roller or roller tip. Nice part about roller tip is almost no Hp difference/cheaper and can retain same valve covers if you have low covers.

Re: New Project '72

My son just told me he got a set of roller tip rockers from a friend who upgraded to full roller. So a new carb will probably be the next purchase.

Nice, you already have the rockers, carb is a few $ but not bad and even easier to change.

Truck looks great, and I like the color combination. Looks like a real clean truck.
