Are these bags too small for the rear?
 

I've had these bags for a while and was gonna use them for the rear. I can't decide if I should order 5" drop springs or run these bags in the rear.

I had another thread going about how to spend a little money I got. If these need to be combined sorry for making a whole other thread. I already ordered a track bar just can't decide if I should get springs or try these first.

Ok so these are the bags. They look small to me and there's no numbers that I can see anywhere. I measured my tj springs compressed and they're about seven inches. I know these will go taller and much smaller just wasn't sure of the load capacity.

Those should be fine, they look like Slam bags to me, measure the diameter. You said you have 4? You're set if you do, I'm using Slam 7's all around and they're fine.

I usually recommend a smaller bag for the rear than the front. spring rate is based on air pressure and it wont take a lot of pressure to lift the rear, usually under 20 psi. when people use a bigger bag in the rear, at ride height the front spring rate is really high and the rear is really low because of the weight difference.

I like to use RE7 slams in the front and either 225c Firestones (called 2500lb) or F9000 sleeve bags in the rear. If you look on your local craigslist you can usually find a Ride Rite helper kit with two of either of those kinds of bags included for joe dirte cheap. I say hold the RE7 for the front and pick up some smaller ones for the rear. But of course, guys will continue to use big rear bags no matter what, its rwd so the big wheels and tires go on the back right? :P


will they work? yes, they will work great. They arent too small.

I have like three or for sets of those helper bags with lines and compressors. I wasn't sure if they'd be good enough to replace the springs with. If so I can definitely make something work.

I would think they would be fine. I run 40psi in my rear bags and it sits great.
