No brake lights

To make a long story short, I put a nine inch in my truck with Explorer rear disc brakes. I took out the factory proportion valve and have the brake lines from the master cyl. directly to the lines for the front and rear brakes. I didn't know it until today but, I have no brake lights when I'm on the brakes. Does this have to do with not having the valve with the pressure switch? If so, how do I wire my brake lights to work? This is on an '87 R10 by the way.
Thanks,
Dave

Re: No brake lights

Brake lights use a switch under the dash on the pedal pivot bracket, not a pressure switch. Check the fuse.

I did check the fuses last night and they were good. Its the switch. I have power at the wires. I checked it with a volt meter and I also jumped the wires with a piece of jump wire. After I jumped it, the brake lights worked. There's also no cont through the switch when the switch is in the closed position.

there is a threaded bit the "switch" sits in it might be off center?
should be resting on the pedal
