11500 for a '77 that has been sitting outside since 77. And doesn't run. That's a little messed up

I have had this 40K mile 77 K-10 beauty for sale for a while and i still have it. it is literally 100 times nicer than the $20K truck and has hardly spent a night outside. I wish i had dragged it here on the trailer. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/c...-miles-&cat=13 |
Re: Old squares bringing good money at auction
The 79 Big 10 with 3 miles went for $22,000.

Re: Old squares bringing good money at auction
Marketing did it's job.. Every car enthousiast from all over the world was aware of this auction. Prices are just sick if you ask me.

Re: Old squares bringing good money at auction
Did the dealership pull parts off these trucks over the years to repair customer trucks or are some of the parts missing because they were stolen over the years?
|
Re: Old squares bringing good money at auction
I was thinking that it looked like alot of the radiators were taken out. Probably for scrap.

Re: Old squares bringing good money at auction
I watched most of this auction on TV last night on the History Channel, one of the bidders bought back his own car he traded in to the dealership back in '61.

Re: Old squares bringing good money at auction
What I wonder is how alot of these vehicles get there roofs, hoods, and any other body panel bashed in just setting there for so many years.

Re: Old squares bringing good money at auction
There is a picture on carsinbarns of the 69 ss chevelle with a tree laying on it in 2004. The auction claimed it was from snow.

Re: Old squares bringing good money at auction
Those prices are disgusting. Some people have too much money to blow. I can't believe that a lot of those squares sold for double what some if the rarer cars sold for. Crazy.

Re: Old squares bringing good money at auction
Seriously, it all the hype about it. All those cars need full restorations.
Truckfan maybe you should call this auction house and see what they can get for you. |
Re: Old squares bringing good money at auction
I wonder who "o****e" is? He bought the lion's share of those trucks. Deep pockets!

Re: Old squares bringing good money at auction
It was something to see and I am glad I went. Bought a few parts from guys who had bought piles wanting one or two things.

Re: Old squares bringing good money at auction
Radiators were stolen. A few parts were gone but I think they were untouched by the dealer.

Re: Old squares bringing good money at auction
I watched it on history channel. It's a neat story, but I wouldn't call a lot of these vehicles "survivors" they are so f'ed up.
