New 73, what you think?

Hello all,
Picked up a 1973 camper over. The prior owners removed the camper part, but it came with 454 BB, Automatic, immaculate green interior, nice bucket seats, runs smooth and AC still works. The bed area is really long, so a normal bed won't work. Think I am just going to leave it a flat bed.
I have question, the tires are mounted on rims that look like they have a split ring, but there is no split in it. Is this still considered a split rim? Anyway, enjoy.

nice looking truck, maybe some closer pics of the wheels? What does the back of the cab look like?

I'll have to get some more pics. Right now the back is Mcgyvered up with a barn roofing metal sheet tile over the camper hole and a metal sheet for a window. No line of sight what so ever. My buddy and I are going to take a piece of cab back that he has and use it to repair the hole and reuse the window glass for this one. The tires are very dry rotted. Really want to put a regular bed on the back of it, but really don’t know if they even made some this long for this style.

You can't even tell from the side view! You should be able to patch it back together, I was just wondering how big a hole they put in the cab for camper access.

If you are running tubeless tires and there isn't a split or lock ring on it then it isn't considered a split rim. It's hard to tell from the picture what you are running though. Looks like a pretty cool truck.

Too bad he took the camper off. Bet it worked as a camper. Good luck with your build.

Yes, an inside rear view mirror would be useless! Hope you can put a real glass window in there.

I like the interior. looks like those are split rims. Are they 16.5 or 16 inch wheels?

Man......That was a cool vidio and the flatbed was a goodlooking truck. I liked how the bed was at a backward tilt. Thanks for sharing, it was well worth it!!!

Billy,
I couldnt tell from the rear wheel, but the steer is definitely split. There were some split ring designs, that, for lack of a better term, weren't split. When the bead is broke, the tire falls inward and the ring kinda comes off angularly(is that a word?). Anyway, good luck!
