67-70 GMC grills
 

showem off guys. I think Ive gotten the taste for one on my next build Im gathering parts for. Im just not sure I can handle chrome.

Wondering if anybody has an aluminum one or were they all chrome? Ive seen them painted as well. Was that factory? And if so I'd assume they didnt paint over a chrome part at the factory right?

They were chromed steel. Not 100% sure,but I believe '67 was the last painted grille...maybe '68. Just can't picture seeing a '68 (in my memory) at the moment.

I have a painted '67 grill that is going on my '70 Jimmy that will be powdercoated body color (silver, the body is also being powdercoated) and I plan on having reflective red vinyl cut for the inset "GMC" lettering. Oh and the rest of the truck is being dechromed except the bumpers.

I've got a 68 with painted grill. Guess it came that way. Get a pic later.

I like that. Are the bezels painted as well? I cant tell if the rust is peaking through paint or what on that passenger side one.
