Lube and Additive for 12 Bolt with Eaton Posi
My 8 month old Eaton posi started making noise in turns over the last couple of weeks. I drained the "old" lube and filled it with Mobil 1 75w-90 and a tube of Trans-X posi additive. It still pops... Does anyone have a better option that is available at the local part store?

x3 on the GM Limited Slip Additive. Whale oil is your 'active ingredient'.

Re: Lube and Additive for 12 Bolt with Eaton Posi
I couldn't find any "GM" LSA so I put a second bottle of Trans-X in it to see if that will help. If no good than I will ask my dealer to order a couple of bottles and a gasket so I can do another service on it.

Yep, I completely understand the why but I was hoping someone had a good experience with a product available at a local auto parts store. I am going to order some of the GM additive as a back up, but I am hoping adding more of the Trans-X additive will get me through Cruising the Coast. I added Trans-X when I installed the all new rear-end at the end of February, which leads me to believe it is inferior. The problem is there is nothing else available locally.

I tried other products also, but nothing worked for me except the GM additive. Most dealerships used to keep it in stock, but I haven't bought any lately.

I took the truck for a spin between rain showers and it was quiet out back. :)
