ls1 into 69 c10 couple questions.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Finally found a deal on a nice 5.7 ls1 backed with a t56 6 speed manual trans in a 2000 camaro. In the process of making the deal now but im going to go for it. I test drove the car today and he is going to pull the engine trans wiring clutch parts and whatever else I may need. He prefers to pull it himself which saves me a bit of work. He says he will label everything as he goes. Anything else I should have him save me off the car that will help me? And is there a good place to get most of my ls swap parts that I will need to install it into my 69 chevy shortbox. I see a bunch on ebay and other places but was wondering if anyone specializes in these swaps.

CPP, POL, and others have kits for mounting...others include headers.

I would want to be there when its pulled to protect my interests...like he is protecting his by saying he'd rather pull it himself. That way you don't have any surprises.

Early classic enterprise is a decent vender also.

Thanks guys I will check into them. The guy backed out on tearing the drivetrain out of the camaro now, says it means too much too him since he has owned it since new. I will hopefully be purchasing the whole car instead in a week or so. Hope it still works out im getting anxious to start the swap.

Instead of headers, Trailblazer SS or 2010-up Camaro manifolds are another option if the fourth generation Camaro manifolds don't clear whatever motor mount setup you're using.

There are a couple build threads around here where people have posted complete lists of what parts they've used. I've been keeping a running tally, but my swap isn't complete yet, so I haven't posted the list.

Theres also the Swap Index and about 50 spreadsheets with part numbers and costs.

When I started my swap I only saw the two spreadsheets on the index thread, and they weren't bad, but they weren't the greatest. If there are more we really should add them there. I don't think anyone has added mine to the index thread yet, but I've pointed about 3 people in that direction when they PM me.

Thats weird, I recall submitting one along with a bunch of others when the original thread was created. I attached a .doc on here.
Hasn't been updated since the original swap was done but everything since then is ancillary.

I used these guys for motor mounts. it allows the motor to be moved back a bit.

Re: ls1 into 69 c10 couple questions.

Well I ended up taking a new job today with alot better pay and less hours so i now should have plenty of time for this project. Going to pick up the whole camaro saturday. Probably start pulling out the motor and trans from the truck and ordering parts in a few weeks. Want to get a few more weeks of fun out of it before i put it out of commission for the winter. I will keep you guys posted, most of november will be dedicated to bowhunting though.
