My Latest C10 - Unbelievable.

I've been away from this forum quite a bit ever since I sold my previous tan 84, but recently lucked onto this beauty. Let me know what you think and what I should do first.

1984 Chevy Silverado with 100% factory paint and perfect factory interior, power everything, clock, air, cruise, 305/350 combo and 25,861 documented miles. The only mods are an aluminum radiator, new exterior trim, factory sport bumpers and small mirrors, cut coils and shackles (done around 1990) and dual exhaust. It also came with every piece of factory build documentation, even still has the grease pencil marks under the hood.

I'm amazed that everything works, sounds and feels like a brand new truck. To me, it's a truly amazing survivor and I'm just curious how common these finds are.

It isn't that common to find one like that. What are they asking ? You wouldn't have to change a helluva lot that thing look's sweet just how it sits.

Not sure about it, the mirror placement originally had three holes. Awesome looking truck!

Awesome!

I'd be interested in any of the factory paperwork you are willing to post up, as well as the grease pencil marks.

What plant was it built in?

Re: My Latest C10 - Unbelievable.

I'm sorry I just re-read my post and it wasn't very clear. I already purchased this truck. The mirrors are factory installed, only the larger "custom" mirrors had the third hole in the door.

I haven't researched the build plant yet. I have contacted the original dealership and they are piecing together some of its early history. You can still read Smith Chevrolet, Stevenson, Alabama faded into the clearcoat on the tailgate.

It will be going through a full appraisal later this week and I will post more detailed pics as soon as I can. Thank you for all the compliments.

It was really mind blowing to buy it, set the cruise at 80 mph, turn on the radio and air, then just drive it like a brand new, 29-year-old, truck.

I am going to revamp the suspension and replace the cut coils with spindles and new springs, then replace the homemade shackles with a standard 5" flip kit. It is kinda neat to see how one was lowered in the mid-80's.

Nice, isn't it? - lol.

I wouldn't worry about the cut coils in front; mine has been a daily driver for 27 years and 205,000 miles and still drives like a new truck.

I'm in agreement that it sounds like the rear could use some attention.

You can tell the plant location from the VIN. Should be the 7th from last position (right before the sequential portion of the VIN starts.)
http://service.gm.com/dealerworld/vi.../vincard85.pdf No pressure, though - lol.

Very, very nice! I saw a RCSB 454 white with blue interior in similar low mileage condition go for 12 grand and I thought it was a steal!

Very nice truck. I'm one though that looks at vehicles from the "inside-out".
Any pictures of the engine and suspension?? Thanks-Larry:chevy:

Yes, I will get more pics posted after my morning meeting at work. I did quickly check the VIN and this one was born in Flint, Michigan.

I would say its pretty rare to find a super clean 29 year old anything, but especially a truck. Heck my trucks that I use daily are in worse shape than that and I baby them.

If it were me I would locate a set of the factory alloy wheels and get the ride height were you want it. Beyond that, select "D" and mash gas.

Excellent! I may have helped build it (depends on if it went by on 1st shift or on 2nd shift).

I'm afraid I don't remember it, though (lol).

Do nothing to it, other than maintain and preserve. How did you did this truck?
