Finished the transaction on Thurs and will be doing the 450 mile road trip on Fri. If all goes well, I'll be updating with pics Fri night.

Oh, I did a typo in my OP as the truck is actually a 71. :thud:

My "chase vehicle" has a big bag of tools which I'm hoping I won't need. :truck:

OK, so here's some of the stuff that happened today. Left Santa Fe around 7:00am and it was just barely light out. The brakes lights didn't seem to work but the PO texted me that it was probably because I pumped the brakes. Sure enough the lights did work once on the road. I suspect there's an adjustment in order though. The little 250 six pushed the truck along pretty well. I was able to maintain a fairly consistent 65 MPH even on the moderate hills heading West. Actually crested the continental divide at 67 MPH at 7300' elevation. Not a LOT left above that but I did see 70MPH a few times.

Holy crap ~~~~~~~~~~ Ran into a MAJOR zombie apocalypse just after the continental divide. There were thousands of stranded vehicles and I just barely made it out alive. I went bushwacking with the truck and drove right through a herd of those suckers! Got body part all over the truck now! grrrrrrr

Here's a pic from just before the zombie herd showed up:
