taking cab off and how to store it?

Any good tips to taking a complete cab off my 81 C10 and a good way to store it while off the frame?

on wood 4x4s?

I used 4x4s on jack stands to store and used excavator and 2 lifting straps under the cab parallel to the frame rails. or 6 guys before I had access to equipment.
