ls1 swap cpp mount question
I have ben researching engine mounts for my ls1 69 c10 and ive decided to go with cpp. my question is i see this kit listed all over http://www.classicperform.com/Store/...6772LS1-PK.htm
But i also see an adjustable one http://www.ebay.com/itm/CPP-NEW-LS-E...e3f327&vxp=mtr If i get the first one listed am i going to want the adjustable bracket or should it be fine without? Thanks. |
Re: ls1 swap cpp mount question
I believe if its an LS1, then you will need the 1st one. If you have a Vortec ( 4.8/5.3/6.0) then you would need the 2nd one. I would also call them and ask, ask for Jeff.

Re: ls1 swap cpp mount question
You know the LS1, 4.8, 5.3, 6.0 all have the same block design right? The motor mount is the same for all of these engines.

Re: ls1 swap cpp mount question
I used the first one listed but I also bought adjustable plates so I could move everything back a few inches. The plates were from cutthroat 4x4 but there is a diagram in the FAQ section to make your own. My engine is a 5.7 ls1.

Re: ls1 swap cpp mount question
Alright i figured the adjustable plates were for the same set up just to move it if desired. Im wondering if i will need them as im going with a t56 and it seems the shifter sits back pretty far as is. I will have to check for that diagram. Thanks for the info.

Re: ls1 swap cpp mount question
There is a kit that moves the shifter to a near stock truck location. But you will need a high hump also.

Re: ls1 swap cpp mount question
I will have to check into that as well. I have a high hump already for my original old granny low 4 speed. My muncie m21 comes out further back than that did so im hoping it will be close to that but i will have to do some measurements saturday when i get the car.

Re: ls1 swap cpp mount question
I bought the $35 plates off of Ebay and the CPP trans x-member and everything bolted right into place.

Re: ls1 swap cpp mount question
jon01 this trans x member, was it for a 4l60 or a t56? I am having a hard time finding a trans x member for a t56. Not really any explanation in any of the build threads or parts places I have seen. Just wondering if it can be purchased or has to be built. Thanks.

Re: ls1 swap cpp mount question
-60/80. If memory serves a 56 mounts very similar. You may have to drill new holes for the 56 mount and new holes in the frame but that should be about it.

Re: ls1 swap cpp mount question
can anyone verify, do those CPP mounts completely eliminate the mount/perch combination of the factory set up?
