2001 Yukon XL body side molding removal?
The wife's hauler is white, and has the white side molding with a chrome accent piece. The white paint on this plastic piece has yellowed, and looks terrible.
Are these things just held on with double sided tape? My inclination is to get a heat gun and some goo remover and get rid of them. Any concerns? Thanks! The molding is just held on with double sided tape and can easily be removed just by pulling it off with your hands or running some dental floss between the door and the trim. To remove the leftover adhesive go to the auto parts store and get a pinstripe removal wheel (looks like a 6" round eraser) attach it to a drill and go over the left over tape with the wheel.
