1965 C10 w/700r4---speedo cable?
 

What have you guys that have done the swap been using for a speedo cable? The longer one from the 4x4's, a common one from a 80's 2x? Is the speedo head the same thread as the older ones? I swapped in a 700r4 in my 1950 Burb and the stock cable worked great. This truck had a 700r4 in it when I bought it , but they cut the cable under the firewall and I do not have the end to compare, or a good length to go buy one.

Order a speedo cable from a 67-72 C-10. They work fine and long enough..
I think I ordered one off a 68 C-10 for my 60 with a 700R4....

In my '71 I just used the 4x4 cable, it had enough extra length.

I just went to the parts store and asked what lengths they had for chevy cables. Picked one that was about a foot longer and put that in the truck.
