Dust sheild Gasket/Seal?? where can I find it?

4 Attachment(s)
I've asked auto zone/O'reilys* etc. and I'm having trouble finding the "gasket" (chilton's magazine calls it) ..its located on the back side of the Dust sheild (1971)....Its needed because Its part of the spacing when you put the spindle on. ??...?? I'm coming to this Amazing 67-72 board talk because I haven't found an auto store that understands the question? lol

any luck where I can find this gasket/seal or buy a new set of sheilds that would fit perfect?? Spacing and all?

the photos are samples of what I'm seeking to find: Gasket-bottom of spindle bar/pole.
The spindle Nut is another question you might have saw on another question I posted.
Thanks!

Here is a link to early classic, they sell the dust shield and gasket as well as the castle nut, you have to hit next at the bottom of the page to find the castle nut.

http://www.earlyclassic.com/catalog....gory=Drop+Kits

You will have to select brakes under Choose Category.

it's really not necessary at all to have those gaskets the clearance is not at all critical and it does nothing to seal or protect anything/// i've driven many vehicles hundreds of thousands of miles without them with no ill effects

haha.....EarlyClassics page is exactly what kind of online page I needed!

That dust shield is exactly what I needed! and great price to!

Thanks so much! I might even by a new brake shoes2x. Great price there to! $85 amazing! Thanks!

...and year to reply to the second comment on my question: Yeah this seal is needed, not so much for sealing/but mainly because the dust shield sits with a .25 open space between it and the spindle it self where the gasket/seal will fill that open space. So thanks for you comment, but as they say "every truck is different in some way or the other." lol

I would suggest calling your order in, because at times the shipping calculator on their website can be a little off, and they do offer USPS boxes that make the shipping much cheaper.

I called them to make sure the Gasket was the right size/thickness.... sure enough it wasn't. :-\ there gasket is around 1/16 thick where I need almost a quarter inch thickness to fill the places it was originally glued to.

As of this point, I'll be in a hardware shop soon and begin to fabricate the right fit and thickness to continue the job. ahhh... big sigh. lol

Thanks for sure man!

I went to O'reileys and bought a roll of cork gasket. Came home and cut out my gaskets for the dust shield...cost me $7 for the roll, and I have enough left over to make just about any other gasket I need!

Aww Perfect!!! That was a question at mind for me; does O'reilys have gasket in general I can fabricate to do what I need it to do! lol Thickness basically.
Perfect!!!! Sounds like you ran into the exact problem I have.
Man, I really appreciate your support on my curious questions: Will it work? lol
