Marker Light Fuel door - Request for more pictures please!
Im working on fabricating my marker light fuel door. Im just curious as to how a few other guys have done it. I have searched and cant seem to find the pictures that i am looking for. I have a couple questions.
Will the marker light stick out much more than it originally did? Did you trim the plastic rib on the back of the marker light? What bolts are you using to secure the mount? I cant seem to see how to use the ones that were on my fuel door originally and still make the light sit somewhat in the same spot that it originally did. Any extra pictures and more details of your completed installs or in progress installs would be super! Im not the best when it comes to this type of stuff, so i want to take everyones ideas and make this install as clean as i can!:chevy: Thanks in advance! |

Here's the directions I used for mine. Just modified them a little to use on a Fleetside.

Here's some pics of the first one I ever saw. There was a good write up on it somewhere that tennman did but it didn't come up in the search.

Re: Marker Light Fuel door - Request for more pictures please!
thanks for the links, i was kinda hoping for some closer up pics of the bolts, specificly what kind. The tennmans install on a stepside said he used 1/4 bolts, but not if they were button head or flat head. The pics almost appear flat head but if they were countersunk i dont think it would be strong enough. What do you think about possibly welding studs in place of the bolts that way it would alow the light to sit more flush like it was originaly supposed to. Unless i am doing somthing a bit off, whatever i try has the bolts pushing the light out 1/8".
