1968 3/4 ton 4x4 Panel
1 Attachment(s)
Picked this up last Sunday and brought it home. It is a 1968 3/4 ton 4x4 that was ordered new by a Rescue squad. I know from the Info on the board here that there were only 68 made that year but what would this be worth on the open market. It is currently running now I have to fix the brakes. Thanks for any additional feedback.:chevy:

Re: 1968 3/4 ton 4x4 Panel
You have achieved one of my life's dreams! Needle in a haystack. Not many Panels with Custom or CST...Period. But,to find one of 68 K/20s with Custom trim is possibly "unique". I wonder why the rescue squad wouldn't have ordered a red one. Did they used to use blue on their equipment?

Re: 1968 3/4 ton 4x4 Panel
Special K you are right it was painted blue with a white top and then the Fire Dept painted it Red. I will be posting several more pictures in the next few days so please stay tuned. The Original from factory color was a light blue.

Re: 1968 3/4 ton 4x4 Panel
Incredible find with what looks like "Custom" trim package. I think that's gunna be very rare to find something like that. More pictures please.

Re: 1968 3/4 ton 4x4 Panel
The interior looks green after I loaded the pictures but it is actually the gold color that you see in just about all of them.

Re: 1968 3/4 ton 4x4 Panel
That's a hard one to put a value on,and that's all I can say!
I've been told all the K/20s were built for gov't. I'm skeptical of that, since I can't see it being a Custom and don't know any agency why this would be light blur/white two-tone. I'd be real curious to know if in '68 this rescue squad used those colors and they factory ordered it that way,or if this was a built unit the dealer located for them. No doubt, they were the original owners |
Re: 1968 3/4 ton 4x4 Panel
Special K here is a little more info as to the color scheme. It was from the factory light blue color which you see in the pictures under the hood. It was then painted Blue with the white top By or For the rescue squad. After that what ever Fire dept painted it Red.
In the town I grew up in there was a 2 wheel drive panel painted the same way blue with a white top. I was too young to remember if it was 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton. In the Next few days I will post up some more detailed pictures. If there are any specific pics anyone would like to see just let me know. I also tried the PTO and Winch today and it works as it should! |
