Need a few questions answered

I will most likely be purchasing this 66 GMC and it has a running and driving V6 in it. It is a shortbed fleetside which I will mainly be buying for possible use on the bed. But My question is, is would it be worth trying ot put back together as there is quite a bit of rust in the cab, or would it be better to part? Is anyone on here in need of a big V6? ANy help would be good.

From the pics--and their quality--we can see lotsa surface rust, which is a very doable repair: media-blasting, and not a great amt. of time or cost. Critical areas of rust can be a different story, but again we cannot see the presence OR absence of it. From what we CAN see, do as already suggested: install hood and fenders and drive her!

Drive it...

Then if you find something you like better that needs a bed...

I recently bought a 62 with a V6. I kept reading it was a gutless boat anchor. I got it running and put a Holley 500 on it. It runs great and makes decent power. I'm in no hurry to change it.

There isn't much market for the V6s but 66 has a screw on oil filter which is desirable. It could also be a 351 which is more desirable than a 305.
I noticed that it has an automatic trans. That adapter and column is fairly in demand also.

I would buy it in a country second. A couple of fenders and it is a driver. Cab cant be but so bad you still have rockers on it.
