No Electric Power in 1967 Truck
 

I got in to start my truck turned the key and nothing happened. Turns out there is no power anywhere except at battery. The starter will engage if shorted at the solenoid. But other than that nothing else works. There is power going into the fuse block but nowhere else. I'm stumped been trying to figure it out for 2 days now. Any advice on how to proceed would be very much appreciated. I was thinking maybe it might be the ignition switch. I'm no electrical wizard for sure. It started fine everyday and then nothing.

Do your
headlights work
brake lights
tail lights
horn

When you turn the key on do your
turn signals work
wiipers
heater fan

If they do then you probably have an open circuit in the starter solenoid wire from the key switch. Do you have an automatic transmission?
Check the neutral start switch jiggle the shift lever and try again and try in neutral.

I had no power to all the above you mentioned. Thanks for the reply. Turns out the fuse block is bad. The one on the firewall, it is the original one from 1967 and is in bad shape. A friend of mine bypassed it with a single wire and toggle switch direct to battery for the moment. Now everything works but I will need an updated fuse block which uses the new fuses instead of the old glass ones. Does anyone know the best place to get one? I am going to do an internet search, but if anyone knows of one that might fit I would appreciate it. Thanks.

once my 72 did this after getting on the free way had to pull over and call my dad turns out the wire from the alt to the batt or the one from the batt to the ignition switch came loose cant remember which one it was it was a long time ago. but the whole truck went dead no electrical to any thing

Looks like Quickwire has the TR-1400 fuse panel that would serve for $125.00. Has the flashers on the board and room to expand should I need it. Anyone used these replacement fuse panels from Quickwire?:uhmk:
