I think eight is spot on for that truck.

For the Northeast in that condition and the miles are legit its not that much of a stretch

Yea I would buy it and dedicate a nice giant barn to it and others like it.

NO WAY... look at the wheels. they painted over the hubs and everything. looks like it has been repainted.."maybe" 4500 tops.
But if it's worth 8 to you, then that is what it's worth.

If purchased to drive, then A/C would be a requirement for me. I would rather find a southwest rust free with higher miles and restore it for about the same.

A lot of people don't realize that just being 35 years old, regardless of mileage, causes things to wear out on a vehicle. Just the regular brakes, shocks, all rubber and plastic parts, etc. There are a ton of little doo-dads on these trucks just like any other vehicle that need replacing over time.

So, $8,000 will be $12,000 if it is restored to reliable daily driver condition if you include the normal surprises, especially since most everything on a 3/4 ton costs more (I have owned 3 of those C20s.) Just sayin'

saw that wheel paint, and nuts, then look for the back of the pass front rim
(don't think they bothered to paint the backs)
but that mileage looks way outa line,I'd question that

It would be nice to have some pictures of under the hood, and undercarriage... And I love it when sellers say "no scams"... I can just envision a scammer going "oh darn, and I was going to run a scam on that guy... guess I'll have to scam someone else"...

have to agree with motornut on this one, i'd be checkin' them miles too.
interior looks like it could be low mileage, but to me the exterior looks like it's been dolled up for sale.
myself i wouldn't pay that for it. if the miles checked out & it had a big block, i might get close.
i do like the fact that it's a plain jane

I'm seeing a repaint and a mileage rollback on it. These odometers are far to easy to open and put where you want them, plus they have no 6th digit so you never know how many times they roll over that 100k mark.

We see modern cracker box cars, that require a network of computers and a ton of specialty tools to work on, last 200k all the time. What's so hard to believe a lot of these old cars/trucks that most could work on with sack full of tools could go 400k or 500k?

I would be suspect of it for sure, the painted wheels, and it does look like the body has been painted as well. In my opinion not worth any where close to 8.

it has several dent's but no scratch's, it's had a quick doll'n up to sell.

Re: Check this out..

Odometer numbers do not look right.

That 3 in the 23,000 would not have rolled that far towards a 4 at only the 600 mark. Usually doesnt start turning like that until well into the 900s.... bet its been thumbdialed.
