Interior trim - painting

I spent a few hrs at junk yards today. Found a nice setup of black interior trim an headliner. Some of the trim is faded a bit. I just finished cleaning an degreasing. Getting ready to paint black.

Is the original trim a FLAT, SATIN, or GLOSS finish??? I found flat an gloss but could not find satin.

Guess real ? is should i go with FLAT or GLOSS

I don't want red lol. Previous owner glued dwn tweed fabric. I plan on painting blk tax time or keep red outside an blk interior.

Not 100% positive, but all my trucks have a slight sheen to the trim. I would guess they are satin. I would suggest you use SEM color coat and take time to do the prep work and they will turn out great. I did the same to a few sets and they looked really nice. I'll see if I can find a pic of the panels, I sold the truck that had the black interior.

I used SEM also - worked out well. The sell an adhesion promoter, but it leaves a rough surface which telegraphs through to the finish SEM paint. I found a light wet sanding after the adhesion promoter dries smooths out the finish and makes the finish paint look better - but you should try that on a small area first. As I recall, only the plastic needs the adhesion promoter, the metal strips on the front/rear and above doors I just painted with SEM alone.
